WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina at Wilmington has received a $10,000 grant to support hunger relief efforts across the Cape Fear region.
The grant was awarded by Piedmont Natural Gas through the Duke Energy Foundation and will help provide food assistance programs in Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover and Pender counties.
According to Piedmont Natural Gas, the funding will help the Food Bank at Wilmington provide an estimated 30,000 meals, connect residents with food assistance resources and support a network of 86 community partners and 139 hunger relief programs…
