Indiana residents are being asked to keep an eye on local trees during National Tree Check Month and help prevent the spread of a destructive invasive pest — the Asian longhorned beetle (ALB).
The Asian longhorned beetle, known scientifically as Anoplophora glabripennis, has not been found in Indiana, but adult beetles are now emerging in nearby states. The closest known population is located in southeastern Ohio.
