SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Friday will mark two years since a 50-year-old Portsmouth woman was murdered in Suffolk, and her family is still searching for answers in a case police now say is closed without an arrest.

Chiffonda Speller was killed the morning of Aug. 7, 2024, at a house in the 100 block of South 10th Street near Freeney Avenue. A man was also seriously injured in the incident, though police have not released his identity.
Speller’s sister, Tiffany Watts, rushed to the scene that morning hoping to help, but it was too late. She said the vision of the crime scene continues to haunt her, and that the lack of answers has been unbearable.
“It haunts me so bad,” Watts said. “Like it haunts me that I saw my sister there and I wasn’t able to save her. I couldn’t imagine why somebody would be so cruel. And no matter what the circumstances were, she didn’t deserve to go like that.”…
