LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The Lafayette Police Department is reviewing a 36-second arrest video circulating on social media that appears to show an officer taking a handcuffed man to the ground, and the officer has faced prior excessive-force allegations.
The video has no sound. According to the witness who recorded it, a bouncer removed the man from a club after he tried to say goodbye to a bartender who was his friend. The witness said police became involved, handcuffed the man, and then slammed him to the ground after he was already restrained.
