ST. PAUL, Minn. (Valley News Live) — The Minnesota Department of Human Services has launched a new online tool to help Medical Assistance enrollees find out whether they will need to meet new federal work requirements taking effect Jan. 1, 2027.
Enrollees can access the tool through Aug. 31 at mnrenewallookup.com.
Who is affected
The new work requirements, passed as part of the federal One Big Beautiful Bill Act, generally apply to adults ages 21 to 64 who do not have dependent children, are not pregnant, are not eligible for Medicare and do not qualify for Medical Assistance based on a disability. Medical Assistance is Minnesota’s Medicaid program.
Starting in 2027, work requirements will be verified when Minnesotans apply for Medical Assistance and when they renew their coverage. Renewals for affected adults will also shift from once a year to twice a year…
