DENVER (KDVR) — Two suspects accused of theft at a Target in Highlands Ranch fled from deputies through fields after ditching their vehicle on Saturday afternoon, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on X on Wednesday.
Deputies responded to reports of a theft at a Target in Highlands Ranch, and when they arrived at the scene, saw the two reported suspects driving a white truck that was towing a camper trailer.

They tracked the truck to C-470, where the suspects would eventually “jackknife” their truck and flee on foot near the exit for South Yosemite Street. The suspect’s vehicle was damaged, but other vehicles were not.
One of the suspects fled into a field, forcing the deputy to hop a fence and catch up. Eventually, the deputy caught the suspect. In bodycam footage, the suspect apologized and asked, “What was I supposed to do?” To which the deputy responded, “Not run, brother.”…
