MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its newly expanded emergency department, marking the Phase 2 completion of a $30 million renovation project that doubles the department’s capacity.

MUSC Health said the project significantly enhances emergency care services for patients across the Midlands. The full renovation will be complete in December, according to a news release.
