LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Metro Louisville announced Thursday that $1.1 million in grant funding is available to local nonprofits working to tackle and prevent homelessness.
Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville, announced the funding, which city leaders said is intended to support people experiencing homelessness and help keep vulnerable residents safe, particularly during winter weather.
“This particular funding is crisis support,” said Josh Swetnam, co-director of the Louisville Metro Office of Social Services. “So, the main purpose for the Homeless Initiative Funds is to increase the safety and security of all of our neighbors to make sure that the most vulnerable in our community are safe, particularly during the winter season and during winter weather.”…
