EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — After nearly 100 farm animals were found with signs of “severe neglect,” a 61-year-old man told investigators he had no knowledge of how to take care of certain animals and the veterinarian he sought out wasn’t licensed in the U.S., according to court documents obtained by KTSM 9 News on Thursday, Aug. 6.
As KTSM previously reported, about 100 farm animals were found neglected at a residence along the 13500 block of Chicken Ranch Road in San Elizario. Santos Gordillo Torres was arrested on four counts of animal cruelty and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $60,000 bond.

Torres posted bond and was released on Saturday, Aug. 1, according to court records.
At around 4:30 p.m. on July 26, deputies were dispatched to the residence in San Elizario to assist the Sheriff’s Office Animal Welfare Unit.
