Lubbock-Cooper ISD rolling out ‘The Standard’ for students this school year.

LUBBOCK, Texas — One of the big initiatives for Lubbock-Cooper this school year is called ‘The Standard.’ It means students from Pre-K all the way to high school seniors have to meet certain standards. Superintendent Aaron Waldrip says they started working on this initiative last year by talking to groups of students, teachers, and parents. “It’s a list of eighteen of what I would say are the most important values.

That will bring students employable skills and leadership skills to set them apart. From firm handshakes and talking with eye contact, agreeing to disagree with others while standing up for their own opinions…
