COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) -Some parents in the Muscogee County School District are raising concerns after learning the district will not provide transportation for children with special needs who attend private Applied Behavioral Analysis programs after school.
Parents say they were told transportation would not be an issue
Taylor Mose, a Columbus resident and parent of a child with autism, said she received a call from the school district in mid-July informing her that her child qualified for one of the ABA programs. She said she was also told on that same call that transportation would not be a problem.
“They told me that I would not have to worry about transportation. That they would supply it even if my child was going to one school for general education at the beginning of the day. And then going to her specialized program at the end,” Mose said.
