As qualifying continued for Louisiana’s upcoming congressional races, former Gov. John Bel Edwards endorsed a Democratic candidate who signed up to run in the Sixth District.
But Pat Forbes, who won that endorsement, must compete against Lindsay Rubia Garcia, who was endorsed by the Louisiana Democratic Party to run in the Fifth District before Louisiana’s congressional maps were redrawn in the spring.
Otherwise, it was a fairly quiet day at the Secretary of State’s Office, where qualifying takes place. Whether state Sen. Blake Miguez, R-New Iberia, will run for a seat still remained a mystery, as he did not qualify. He has until Friday at 4:30 p.m. to do so…
