Historic 2-M’s Malt N Burger in Rosenberg to close Sept. 15 as owner shifts focus to growing Dozier’s BBQ in Fulsher and Houston

ROSENBERG, Texas (Covering Katy News) — Tyler Risinger’s effort to preserve another piece of Fort Bend County’s restaurant history will come to an end next month as 2-M’s Malt N Burger permanently closes Sept. 15.

Risinger announced the decision in a message to customers, saying rapidly rising operating costs—particularly the price of beef and other food products—have made it impossible to continue operating the restaurant while maintaining the quality and value customers expect.

The closure ends a revival that began in 2023, when Risinger reopened the iconic Rosenberg burger restaurant after it had previously closed. Originally established in 1963, 2 M’s became a favorite destination for generations of Fort Bend County families before Risinger sought to give it new life…
