Line blockage causes 1,000-gallon raw sewage overflow in north Raleigh near creek

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Officials said crews cleared a north Raleigh pipe blockage on Saturday that caused a 1,000 gallons of raw sewage to overflow near a creek.

The incident was reported just before 8:20 a.m. near 5217 Cedarwood Drive just north off East Millbrook Road, according to a city of Raleigh news release.

Upon arrival, crews discovered an active sanitary sewer overflow caused by debris inside an 8-inch sewer main, the news release said…
