A judge in Adams County District Court sentenced Najeree Reed-Alexis to 20 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections Friday for trafficking a minor, plus a concurrent 16-year term for trafficking an adult victim — the maximum allowed under his plea agreement. Once released, Reed-Alexis will serve three years of parole and must register as a sex offender.
Reed-Alexis exploited vulnerable young women, including underage girls who had run away from home, according to a statement from From Silenced to Saved, the Colorado nonprofit that provided victim advocacy throughout the case. He advertised the women on escort websites, transported them to a stretch of East Colfax Avenue known as “the Blade” for street-based commercial sex, and kept the money they earned while presenting himself as someone helping them, the group said.
He was originally charged with human trafficking and pimping in December 2024. After numerous delays, including an unsuccessful defense request the morning of sentencing, Reed-Alexis pleaded guilty in May 2026 to human trafficking of a minor and human trafficking of an adult. That plea agreement set an open sentencing range of 15 to 20 years in the Department of Corrections, and Judge Jeffrey Ruff imposed the maximum.
Judge Cites Calculated, Secretive Conduct
From the bench, Ruff did not mince words about what he called deliberate, hidden conduct. “These things were done in secrecy because you knew it was wrong,” Ruff said, per the From Silenced to Saved account of the hearing. “You had a select group of people in your circle for financial gain; you trained them. You didn’t just treat these humans as property, but as disposable property, and after reading how you spoke to them, they weren’t human to you.”…
