TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Saturday’s “Am I next” walk in Tampa wasn’t just about gathering to end gun violence. For some in attendance, it was very personal.
“I lost my son, March 4th, 2025, to gun violence. And I believe that my son has purpose, and purpose never dies. So, I wanted to do something that would be long-lasting,” said Jessica Jones, Founder of Brian’s Bridge.

The event was accompanied by the Black Panthers of Florida and its chairman, Robert Sherman. He said he chose the concept of the “Am I Next?” message that was placed on a hearse.
“We needed that real effect, not just seeing a bunch of people walking, not seeing a bunch of people talking, but a visual effect. In psychology, they tell you the mind doesn’t perceive nothing that the eye can’t see,” Sherman said…
