3-time convicted burglar arrested 3 times while on ankle monitor, accused of South Loop break-in

A three-time convicted burglar who has been repeatedly arrested since December while wearing an ankle monitor could remain behind bars for a while after prosecutors accused him of burglarizing a South Loop home while wearing the electronic monitoring device.

In his latest round of “justice involvement,” Daunte Jackson, 33, was first arrested December 5 in River North after a 30-year-old man found him inside his SUV, according to a Chicago Police Department report. Jackson allegedly rummaged through belongings in the man’s back seat and fled through the rear passenger door when the victim unexpectedly returned and got into the vehicle.

The victim tried to detain Jackson, but Jackson pulled a box cutter or screwdriver to ward him off, the report said. Officers found Jackson near State and Kinzie, and allegedly recovered a box cutter and screwdriver during the arrest…
