Blizzard clinch back-to-back Eastern Conference Championships

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — A game that needed overtime and came down to a final defensive stop by the Blizzard, the Eastern Conference Championship lived up to the hype.

The Blizzard topped the Tulsa Oilers in overtime, 67-60 with Linebacker Andre White Jr. sealing the game on a fourth down tackle. The Blizzard opened overtime with a touchdown from QB Liam Thompson to Isaac Ross. Even before that, to get it to overtime, Andrew Mevis nailed a 14 yard field goal that hit off the top wire of the goal post and fell back into the field of play. However, after review, the referee’s determined it hit the wiring net mesh to count as a field goal before coming back to the field of play.

The Blizzard had 336 total yards of offense, including 232 yards and seven passing touchdowns from Thompson on 20-26 completions. He also added 61 yards on the ground on 14 attempts, while Demilon Brown added a rushing score on 43 yards and 13 carries…
