PF&R: 5,000-gallon tank leaks sulfuric acid on Hayden Island near I-5

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A hazardous material spill prompted a large response on Hayden Island early Monday morning.

Just before 5:30 a.m., Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to a hazmat incident on North Center Avenue near the North Hayden Island Drive on-ramp to Interstate 5.

PF&R said a 5,000-gallon tank was leaking sulfuric acid onto the ground. PF&R previously reported it was 34,000-gallon tank but that number was incorrect…
