OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – Kansas drivers are being warned to keep their phones out of their hands in school and construction zones as students return to class this week, under a new state law signed by Gov. Laura Kelly earlier this year.
According to the bill, warnings will be given out until July 2027, then it’s $60 for a violation.
However, some officers already ticket if they see someone using a phone while in a school zone.
