A flash flood warning is in effect for some metro Atlanta areas tonight amid severe weather.
LIVE UPDATES:
- 7:10p.m.: The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground stop until 8 p.m. due to weather for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
- 6:45 p.m.: A tree is down in southwest Atlanta. No significant injuries were reported, according to APD.
- 6:15 p.m.: The Coweta-Fayette EMC reports about 1,700 members are without power as of 6:15 p.m. Crews are working to restore power.
- 4:59 p.m.: A flash flood warning was issued for Coweta, Fayette, and Fulton County until 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The area has received nearly 5 inches of rain this afternoon from slow moving storms, Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
