Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger is calling on Antelope Valley residents to speak out against the proposed placement of another sexually violent predator in the High Desert community after state hospital officials recommended housing Harold Wachter in Lancaster.
Wachter is a registered sex offender who was convicted of multiple counts of lewd or lascivious acts involving a child under 14 and annoying or molesting a child under 18, according to records on the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s website.
After Los Angeles County Superior Court found him suitable for release, the California Department of State Hospitals recommended placing Wachter at 45310 200th St. East in Lancaster.
