L.A. County deputies recover nearly $200,000 in stolen merchandise

Deputies seized nearly $200,000 worth of stolen merchandise and arrested at least six people in the latest crackdown on fenced goods in the MacArthur Park area and elsewhere in Los Angeles County, sheriff’s officials announced Wednesday.

The first raid took place Aug. 4 in the 700 blocks of South Serrano Avenue and Alvarado Street in coordination with several major retailers, including Lululemon, Target, Alo, TJ Maxx and Macy’s.

“During the execution of the search warrants, investigators identified and recovered approximately $39,238.23 in stolen merchandise, which consisted of clothing, kitchenware, cosmetics and personal hygiene products,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said…
