SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Construction is underway on a new Bingham Elementary School in Springfield after the original building was demolished to make way for the project.
The groundbreaking took place Wednesday, Aug. 12. The new school is being built on the same lot at the corner of Cherry Street and Barnes Avenue. The original Bingham Elementary was built in 1956. The new building will include additional space and a storm shelter.
“I’m excited about the possibilities,” said Principal Adam Meador. “You know, there’s lots of memories that were made in the old building, but the building was the setting. They weren’t the memory. So it’s a chance for new memories to be, new location for the memories, to be made in the future.”…
