NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York City’s new Sheriff Edwin Raymond joins PIX11 to discuss his new role and his plans for the office.
The Sheriff wants to make a clear distinction to the public between his office, which he admits many don’t even know exists, and the NYPD while raising the standard of law enforcement in the city overall. Raymond spent 15 years with the NYPD, reaching the rank of Lieutenant before retiring from the force. In that time he became a whistleblower, alleging that the police department had a policy of racial quotas for officers to meet.
