FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Officers were able to arrest a restraining order suspect with assistance from the air unit on Thursday, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Police responded to a breach of a domestic violence restraining order in Northwest Fresno around 1 a.m., according to the department. Officers say that 24-year-old Elijah Brown was at the scene yelling at the victim.
Brown fled the scene once officers on the ground arrived, and then some help came from the air, according to officials. The Fresno Police Department Skywatch Unit responded and used the FLIR Infrared Camera to try to find the suspect.
The infrared camera picks up body heat, allowing the unit to locate a suspect who may be trying to escape or hide. The glow from the suspect below is a reflection of his body heat.
Officials say the air unit saw Brown running around the complex, and he then jumped into a dumpster attempting to hide from officers. The aircrew informed officers on the ground of Brown’s location, and police moved in, according to the department…
