The entire state of Alabama remained under a heat advisory on Friday, and several spots could hit triple digits before the day is over.
At least one Alabama city had temperatures above the century mark on Thursday. The weather service said the high temperature in Montgomery on Thursday topped out at 101 degrees. (The average high for Montgomery is 94 degrees, and the record for Aug. 13 is 104 degrees in 2007.)
