Man on scooter hurt after crashing into Metro bus

A man riding an electric scooter is recovering in the hospital after hitting a Metro bus near Seattle’s waterfront at Alaskan Way South and South Jackson Street.

The scooter rider, Jacob Royds, suffered multiple spinal fractures, two broken clavicles and facial fractures in the crash.

King County Metro says preliminary information suggests the southbound bus had a green light while Royds was in the crosswalk, though police have not confirmed this to KIRO 7…
