EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The Extreme Heat Warning continues through Sunday, with another day of dangerous heat on the way. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 90s, with heat index values ranging from around 105 to 110 degrees.
A cold front will finally move through Sunday night into Monday, bringing us a little break from the dangerous heat. There will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms with the front, and a few storms could become strong. The Storm Prediction Center has us under a Marginal Risk for severe weather. However, the extreme heat and drier air near the surface could limit how widespread storms become.
We may have a few lingering showers on Monday, but highs will be back around the upper 80s and lower 90s. Tuesday will be much of the same without rain chances. Another round of showers and thunderstorms is possible Wednesday into Thursday. A cold front is expected to move through toward the end of the week, bringing another round of cooler temperatures and lower humidity…
