KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A weak summertime cold front will be pushing into East TN today, setting the stage for a few scattered strong storms.
FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY TODAY: Another hot and humid day. Highs climb to the middle 90s with feels like temperatures in the 100s. The Heat Advisory will go through 8 PM tonight.
While we were dry this morning, more scattered storms will be working through as we head into the afternoon and evening hours, between 3PM-10PM. The Storm Prediction Center has us outlined in a Level 2 out of 5 Slight Risk for severe weather.
Scattered storms will be capable of producing strong straight line winds as well as heavy rainfall that could lead to localized flash flooding. The tornado threat is low, but not completely zero…
