Brunswick County eases water restrictions as drought conditions improve

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Due to some recent improvements in drought conditions, Brunswick County is scaling back some of its water restrictions.

As of Aug. 17, the county has moved from a Stage 3 Water Shortage Warning to a Stage 2 Mandatory Water Conservation Alert, reducing some restrictions and expanding the mandatory irrigation schedule.

Under the Stage 2 Mandatory Water Conservation Alert, residents and businesses must follow this mandatory irrigation schedule:

  • Properties with odd-numbered addresses and non-addressed facilities:
  • From 8 p.m. Tuesdays through 4 a.m. Wednesdays
  • From 8 p.m. Thursdays through 4 a.m. Fridays
  • From 8 p.m. Saturday through 4 a.m. Sundays
  • Properties with even-numbered addresses:
  • From 8 p.m. Wednesdays through 4 a.m. Thursdays
  • From 8 p.m. Fridays through 4 a.m. Saturdays
  • From 8 p.m. Sundays through 4 a.m. Mondays
