El Paso City Council to address Marathon Refinery emissions

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso City Council is scheduled to talk about the recent emissions from the Marathon Refinery in South-Central that pumped thousands of pounds of pollutants into the air.

At the request of city Rep. Josh Acevedo, the council is being asked to approve and adopt a formal request that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provide more information about the emission events on Aug. 4 and 5.

This item is scheduled to be considered during the council’s regular meeting on Tuesday, April 18.
