Heat alerts downgraded

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures are a little more comfortable as you head out the door this morning, with a few inland spots starting in the lower 70s. Beaches are still in the upper 70s, but overall it’s a pleasant start to the first day back to school for Horry County.

There is no rain to worry about as you head to the bus stop or begin your morning commute. Expect a hot and sunny day, making for good conditions during lunch, recess, and after-school activities.

The good news is that it’s not nearly as hot as it was on Monday and Tuesday. There are currently no heat alerts in effect across the Pee Dee. Horry County remains under a Heat Advisory, but that’s an improvement from the Extreme Heat Warning we had earlier this week…
