iPad leads Clackamas County deputies to arrest burglary suspect in Oak Grove

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – An iPad led police to arrest a suspected thief and recover a stash of other stolen items, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s office.

John Michael Auer Jr., 33, is accused of ‘ransacking’ an Oak Grove apartment wearing a UPS employee vest and black facemask, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, on Aug. 1 deputies were called to an apartment complex near the 2300 block of SE Courtney Avenue in unincorporated Oak Grove. The caller told deputies that his stolen iPad was pinging in the area.
