Stephenie Cunningham, of Charlotte, claimed a $1 million top prize after purchasing a $30 Max-A-Million scratch-off ticket from the QuikTrip on Burton Lane in Cornelius, N.C. Education Lottery officials announced.
Cunningham arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect her winnings. She chose to receive a lump-sum payment of $600,000 rather than an annuity of $50,000 annually more than 20 years, bringing her final take-home total to $432,068 after required state and federal tax withholdings. lottery officials said.
