COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Today is hot, followed by storm chances helping it cool off this weekend.
First Alert Headlines:
- Another hot and humid day ahead.
- Storm chances return Friday and Saturday.
- Thanks to rain chances and lower humidity, it gets slightly cooler this weekend.
First Alert Summary:
Good morning! Although not as hot as the start of this week, heat and humidity will stick around today. Under a blend of clouds and sunshine, high temperatures will reach the upper-90s. Factoring in the humidity, it’ll feel as hot as 105 degrees.
During the late-afternoon and evening, a stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. Across the region, rain chances are low (20%), meaning most of us will stay dry and hot all day. There’s a big IF on storm development today, but if one is able to form, there’s a low chance it’ll produce strong gusts of wind.
Friday afternoon and evening, our weather pattern will turn unsettled as storm chances return. With a couple of the storms that develop, strong wind gusts and heavy rain can’t be ruled out.
With rain chances returning, as well as additional cloud cover in place, it’ll start to get cooler as we head into the upcoming weekend. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are possible Saturday. Sunday looks dry with lower humidity in place.
