JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Jackson residents braved sweltering midday heat at Smith Park on Wednesday for a community block party focused on a critical issue: the rising, often unaffordable cost of healthcare in Mississippi.
Hosted by Emmy-winning comedian and entertainer Rita Brent, the event ran from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and paired family-friendly activities with grassroots advocacy.
