A magnitude 4.8 earthquake centered in New Jersey has been linked to the recently discovered Mountainville Fault in the Garden State’s Hunterdon County.
Research published Aug. 11 in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth describes the Mountainville Fault and its connection to the 2024 earthquake, previously attributed to the Ramapo Fault, which is several miles away.
