Berkeley church vandal bends organ pipes, causes $20K in damages: PD

(KRON) — A suspect faces multiple charges after a church in Berkeley was found to be vandalized last weekend with an estimated $20,000 worth of damages, including dented organ pipes and a piano smashed with a planter pot, according to the Berkeley Police Department.

BPD said a group of contractors arrived at their worksite, Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 2362 Bancroft Way, and discovered that two boarded up entrances had been opened.

“Inside the building, they found several items damaged — musical instruments, electronics, speakers — including a piano that had a planter pot smashed onto it as well as organ pipes that were bent/dented,” BPD said…
