How many times in your life do you find yourself looking for a nice spot to have a solid breakfast? Somewhere that has the standard fare plus a few unexpected dishes?
My dining companion and I walked into Sunrise Skillet one morning, not expecting much. The somewhat small restaurant on Reynolds Road was clean, sparsely decorated, and packed with diners. It also smelled heavenly.

After perusing the large menu, I chose the country fried steak and eggs ($13.99). The dish came with an 8-ounce steak slathered in homemade country gravy. It also had two eggs made your way, hash browns, and toast.
The steak was well-seasoned, fried to a crispy brown, and the gravy was some of the best I have had. I loved that I was able to get my eggs perfectly poached, which can be hard to find. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I took leftovers home to enjoy the next day…
