Frisco Delays Vote On Proposed Trader Joe’s Development

A Trader Joe’s-anchored development in Frisco will have to wait a little longer. Frisco City Council unanimously tabled a zoning change Aug. 18 for a nearly 10-acre mixed-use project planned at the southwest corner of Main Street and Majestic Gardens Drive.

Council members said they wanted additional time to discuss the proposal before taking action. The project is now scheduled to return to council Oct. 6.

Trader Joe’s And Senior Living Planned

The development would combine a Trader Joe’s grocery store with a senior living community for active, independent older adults. The grocery store and senior living facility would be built during a single phase. The senior living component also cannot open until Trader Joe’s is open.

The project has been in the works for more than two years, going through revisions, neighborhood meetings and multiple rounds of city review. The Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved the zoning change July 28, sending it to city council for consideration…
