EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The City of El Paso confirms one man in his 50s with underlying health conditions died from neuroinvasive West Nile virus, the first in 2026.
As a result, El Paso authorities are urging people to be alert and take protective measures.
“The Severe Central Nervous System West Nile Virus disease is extremely dangerous and can lead to potential complications, disability or even death,”” City-County Health Authority Dr. Hector Ocaranza said. “With the recent rain, it is imperative that the public take precautions to decrease the risk of getting infected with WNV by practicing the four Ds to prevent mosquito bites.”…
