Chuck Liddell Accuses Ex-Wife of Taking Teen Daughter to Orange County

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell has filed an emergency custody order in Los Angeles accusing his ex-wife, Heidi Northcott, of taking their 14-year-old daughter, Guinevere, to Orange County against existing court orders just before the start of the school year. Liddell is asking a judge to grant him full custody of Guinevere pending a hearing scheduled for Monday, August 24. Northcott, for her part, says the teenager asked to be taken away because she did not feel safe.

According to TheRichest, Liddell’s court filing alleges that Northcott attempted to relocate both Guinevere and the couple’s 13-year-old son, Charlie, to Newport Beach before the school year began, and that she ultimately moved Guinevere there without court permission. Liddell claims in the filing that separating the siblings has caused instability and chaos for both children, and that Guinevere’s absence from her first week of high school could cause irreparable harm. He also alleges Northcott took Guinevere during his designated custodial week and failed to bring her to scheduled extracurricular activities, putting at risk a volleyball team spot Guinevere earned over the summer.

Competing Accounts of Why the Teen Left

Northcott has denied the abduction allegation, telling TMZ, per the same outlet’s report cited by TheRichest, that Guinevere begged to stay with her. Northcott said the children do not feel safe speaking to Liddell, and that her door has always been open for her children to see their father. She also said she was exhausted by the drawn-out custody conflict and accused Liddell of being obsessed with staying in her life and trying to control her in the five years since their divorce. Liddell, in turn, alleged that Northcott failed to use the couple’s required co-parenting communication app, used the children as messengers between the parents, and had no intent to return Guinevere to his custody.

Under California law, a parent who removes or conceals a child based on a good-faith belief that the child faces immediate physical or emotional harm can be exempt from criminal child abduction charges, provided the district attorney’s office and family court are notified within 20 days, according to Eisner Gorin LLP. It remains unclear whether Northcott invoked that provision or filed a formal move-away petition before relocating Guinevere. Separately, depriving a lawful custodian of custody or visitation rights is classified in California as a wobbler offense, punishable as either a misdemeanor carrying up to a year in county jail or a felony carrying up to four years in prison and a $10,000 fine, per Wegman & Levin.

A Divorce Rooted in a 2021 Domestic Dispute

Liddell and Northcott, married for approximately 10 years, finalized their divorce in April 2025 after Liddell filed for dissolution in October 2021. Their divorce settlement established joint legal and physical custody of both children, with Northcott receiving alternating weekend visitation, and required Liddell to pay Northcott a one-time $771,000 lump-sum spousal support payment, $5,000 per month in child support, and deposit $700,000 into an education fund for the children…
