Prattville community steps up to support police sergeant amid cancer diagnosis

PRATTVILLE, Ala. (WSFA) – A Prattville police sergeant who has spent nearly seven years serving her community is now on the receiving end of that service after a sudden breast cancer diagnosis.

Sgt. Kaitlyn Sweat is preparing to travel to Houston next week for specialized treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is making the journey backed by an overwhelming wave of community prayers, travel offers, and financial donations that have fully covered her expenses.
