A major roadway artery near the Adel community recently opened to traffic.
Adel City Administrator Tim Vick confirms to Raccoon Valley Radio that Iowa Highway 169, just south of Adel, is open with a newly installed roundabout. He points out that contractors may still be in the area as they are wrapping up work on the shoulders, so drivers need to use caution and be alert.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, the new Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School, which is located near the new roadway structure and is still under construction, will not be open until the 2027-28 school year…
