Increased aircraft activity expected around Truckee as Hawk Fire burns near Verdi

People in the Truckee area can expect increased aircraft activity Saturday as firefighting planes use McClellan Airport to refill with fire retardant while crews battle the Hawk Fire near Verdi.

C-130 and DC-10 aircraft are refilling at McClellan, and increased overflight activity is expected around Truckee through the rest of the day, according to a statement from Truckee Tahoe Airport.
