POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Dundee man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon following a traffic stop and a brief confrontation with law enforcement, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert Greer III, 45, was spotted by a deputy just after 4:00 PM on August 19 driving a brown 2011 Scion. Authorities noted that Greer had an active warrant for failure to appear regarding prior battery charges and a failure to report for weekend work release.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Woodland Drive and Chicago Way in Dundee. Upon stopping, Greer immediately stepped out of his car and approached the deputy with clenched fists. The deputy exited the patrol vehicle and drew a Taser, prompting Greer to halt.
