The Guethlein Farm demonstrated again last week that it is the building foundation of the Gladeville community.
The farm, founded in 1901, was honored for becoming Wilson County’s 125th certified Century Farm at a luncheon for about 300 people held at the Farm Bureau Expo Center in Lebanon on Aug. 20. No other county in the state has that many certified Century Farms.
The original Guethlein (pronounced Gate-Line) farm was 275 acres. Now some of that property is used for community landmarks Gladeville Community Center (named the John Guethlein Building), Gladeville Elementary School and Gladeville Baptist Church…
