MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – While most of it still remained limited to the southern third of the state, coverage of showers and thunderstorms yesterday afternoon was slightly higher than expected. We’ll see a few more rounds of afternoon showers and thunderstorms across the region as we roll through the middle of the week.
Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies continue through the rest of the day for many of us with highs in the middle 90s, but we’ll also be watching out for more isolated showers and thunderstorms that are expected to develop especially later this afternoon and into the early evening. The highest rain chances appear to be over the Wiregrass, but a few downpours could still develop closer to the River Region as well. A few strong storms are possible once again with gusty winds up to 60 MPH and some pockets of small hail being the primary threats to watch out for. Some rain gradually winds down into the night, then we’ll see mostly clear skies with overnight lows in the lower 70s. Watch out for another round of patchy fog tomorrow morning, especially in any locations that see heavy rain later today.
