SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – An unusual summer weather pattern is expected to continue, with conditions shifting back into a typical summer setup after periods without it, according to ABC7 Chief Meteorologist Bob Harrigan. Rain chances are increasing for Sarasota and Manatee counties, though a widespread, all-day rain event is not expected.
Timing shifts to afternoon, evening
Morning storms that have occurred this summer are expected to go away, with afternoon and evening storms taking their place. Rain chances tonight are expected to be non-existent. Scattered storms are expected to begin during the afternoon tomorrow, with another round possible late tomorrow night as winds turn more to the southeast.
Tomorrow morning’s commute is not expected to be a problem. Showers and storms are possible by 12:30 p.m. and around 2:30 p.m., with the majority of activity tomorrow expected inland. Tomorrow is described as a transition day before more active weather arrives.
Heavier rainfall possible through the weekend
Moisture content is being tracked to determine rainfall amounts. With this moisture in place through the weekend, and increasing over the weekend, there is a chance for heavier rainfall amounts in some places.
